I never in a million years thought I’d be one of those artsy-fartsy types. Sure, I decorated, set a lovely table, wrote a decent letter, but paint? Me? Nah. Funny how life has other plans for you. it all began with a warm-up exercise for a workshop I was giving, a canvas, and some paints. “Wow, that was fun”, I said to myself. It was liberating to splash, spill, and splatter to my heart’s content. The trick is to let go of your bugaboos… “my artwork sucks, I stink, theirs is better than mine, I can’t do it, it has to be perfect… blah, blah, blah.” Like a 5 year old, creative self expression is about feeling playful, spontaneous, adventurous, and free.
